Jasmine Oil and Its Health Benefits

Jasmine oil is extracted from a plant that has a scientific name of Jasminum grandiflorum and is also commonly known as the royal jasmine. The plant is said to have originated from China and the northern part of India. Currently, countries like France, Italy, Egypt, China and Turkey are the main producers of Jasmine. The name Jasmine came from a Persian word ‘yasmin’.

The pure and authentic jasmine oil is extracted from a small white star-shaped flower that grows from an evergreen shrub. The flowers need to be picked at night, because this is the time that its aroma is at its intense level. A solvent is usually used for its extraction.

This essential oil has a very sweet, exotic, and rich floral fragrance that is so sensual and asserting. This wonderful oil is very relaxing and is highly beneficial to our emotions. And because of this, the oil is highly valuable, helping people to boost their self-confidence or self-esteem. Jasmine is also excellent for the skin and can also be used to balance hot, dry and very sensitive skin types.

Jasmine essential oil is known to treat severe depression, because of its soothing effect on our nerves, while generating confidence and optimism as well as revitalizing and restoring our energy. It even helps facilitates childbirth, providing relief of the pain during delivery. It is also very effective in treating post-natal depression and promotes regular flow of breast milk. Because the oil is deeply soothing and calming nature, it also helps those that have sexual problems, like impotence and premature ejaculation. Furthermore, it has a beneficial effect on one’s respiratory system, by soothing coughs, hoarseness on the throat and even laryngitis.
