Reed Diffuser Refill Recipe

Reed Diffuser Refill Recipe

My good friend Diane has been asking me for months for a reed diffuser refill recipe. You may been in the same situation as Diane and have bought a reed diffuser from the shop some time ago which has now dried up and needs refilling. Rather than purchasing the synthetic ingredients, try this recipe to make your own reed diffuser refill using pure essential oils.

If you don't already have a reed diffuser, simply find a nice bottle or jar which has a fairly narrow neck. You'll also need to purchase some rattan reeds which you can find in a craft shop or health food store.

Ingredients

  • 12-16 drops of essential oils
  • Jojoba
  • 1 tablespoon pure Vodka

Method

  • Fill your bottle or jar with the Jojoba until it is ¾ full
  • Add the Vodka and mix in well
  • Next, add your chosen essential oils then mix everything well before placing the rattan reeds into your diffuser
  • Give the rattan reeds a good swirl around then turn up the other way so the ends soaked in the mixture are facing upwards
  • Turn the reeds every few days to get the most aroma from the mixture
  • Once a month or so you can top up with more essential oils, depending how well they last - base essential oils tend to last much longer than top notes for example
